Hasn't happened yet, but If I have to, I can just leave the foam in a trash can somewhere. I'm not using plastic peanuts, so it's easy to jerk out if need be. And, the bags hold their shape good with the foam rubber. I bought a bag if 1" flat foam at Hobby Lobby or Wal-Mart, and just rolled up enough to fit down into the bag.
JUST PURCHASED A 2011 HERITAGE SOFTAIL CLASSIC. I NOTICED OVER THE YEARS HOW THE SADDLEBAGS SAG AFTER AWHILE. I HAD COME ACCROS SOME COMPANY{S} THAT MAKE/SELL A KIT TO INSTALL INTO THESE BAGS TO HELP THEM RETAIN THEIR SHAPE. ANY ONE OUT THERE THAT HAS EXP WITH THESE?, WHERE TO BUY? EASY TO INSTALL?, PRO'S OR CONS?

Or.....you can just take care of the bags you have now. My Heritage is a year old next month and the bags look as good as new.
The biggest enemy of your bags is water. Leather and water just don't like each other. I take my bags off whenever I wash it. I try not to ride in the rain but if I get caught in it, I treat the leather with a good conditioner.
The sun is also an enemy but if you treat the bags with an occasional quality leather conditioner, it won't be a problem.
The conditioner is critical as it keeps the leather from drying out, which results in mis-shapen and fading out bags

My '09 had bags that looked like they got wet from previous owner. Before I went to look at the bike. the dealer had put in a Saggy Bags kit. They look pretty good now.
