if it makes your trip more enjoyable and gives you extra peace of mind on your trip, you didn't waste a dime.

 

I would have kept the old tire if it still had a grand on it, but I change my own tires at home so it wouldn't cost me anything to put it back on later on.

 

Thanks guys for your comments. I neglected to tell you that I have survive 2 flat tires on my last bike, both rear tires. A flat tire at speed is an ineresting experience, not to mention the associated costs. I guess that makes me a little gun shy.

 

I second the burnout...then again we tend to do them when the tires aren't near death.

 

I'm sorry to change the topic but I bought some tires and the guy that had them had put armor all on them does anyone know how to get the stuff off the tires

 

You might want to do some research into "Ride-On Balancer and Sealer"

No I wouldn't re-install a tire with 5,000 miles either. But there sre a lot of people out there that can't afford a new tire right now and need one.

Put it on Craigs List and sell it for $40 bucks.

 

+1 on the sell it to somebody who can use a cheap rear tire with 10,000 miles left on it.

 

Good call... I have to baby mine to get them to last 5k miles!
