Not sure on what year your bike is but be careful as some of the newer bikes have the cats in the muffler and American Customs will not modify or exchange them. As far as sound goes I have herd a few and they sound really good.

I just bought a set of the black ones to go on my bike when it finally gets here. I got the medium baffles with them as well. They look great, can't wait to hear them. I like the stock look but like some good sound as well.

I bought a pair a few weeks ago for my 2011 Heritage. I got the loudest set and they sound awesome!. Nice growl.....My only disappointment was I found out after I shipped my old exhaust back that they had the cat's in them. So I ended up spending a fair amount of $$ shipping my mufflers back and forth.

I think the company could do a better job letting customers know right up front (via their web) site that newer Harley exhaust can not be returned for the 89.00 credit.

my 2cents

I've had mine on for about two months now and I'm Happy.

The pipes they sent me weren't new, not in as good a shape as mine, but almost new. So they were acceptable looks wise. Shipping mine back for 89 bucks plus shipping? Almost not worth it except you get them out of the garage and still get money on them. My 30 days ran out and I still haven't sent them.

Sound wise I like them a lot. I ordered the mid range baffles but have yet to hear what they sound like. The permanent wide, loudest baffles sound good. What I like about them is the original factory bullet pipes, they way they look. At idle it's only a low freq rumble. If you go easy on it you can go un-noticed. (Not really but it's pretty quiet ) You get on it and they come to life with plenty of bark. Yeah they are loud, but only when I want them to be. I tend to stay off it when I pass pedestrians, when It may be a nuisance, if I feel like lying low, etc. Having the choice to be loud or quiet is the best feature to me. On the highway at 75, they are at a constant bark.

These pipes are definitely worth considering. My only concern is how long will the baffles hold out until they rot away? There is a one year warranty so if the loudest baffles start to rust out and you're not happy, I'm not sure what the options would be. Not worried about it really. To me this was the right sound at the right price.

That's because unless a loud pipe dumps behind you as apposed to the side of the bike where your ear picks up every vibration it's going to make you crazy. I learned that the hard way and will never go with a 'short' anything exhaust. If you want it loud make sure their long right out the back. It's not an age thing, it's an acoustic thing.

have mine for about 1k now on my 11 heritage.ran the mid range baffle nothin else for 700 miles or so,lust alittle louder than stock, just pulled the baffles did stage 1 air filer sepst and download and now i really love them, nice and deep, loud when u want cant really be that quiet but its deep and mellow when u need to be.ran w/o baffles and no other changes for 100 miles or so,seemed to run fine very little decel pop,was afraid it was too free flowing so i opted for the a/c and sepst.throttle response is quicker/smoother,no decel pop,and pulls great all the way to redline.yeah im a happy guy.as mentioned above the pipes are used and regutted,a few blems on mine but heat shields cover them, would highly recommend

Amen. Location Location Location. Although 25 years ago not much bothered me.

I'm probably happy with mine because they are configured loud enough for me to hear, especially with the windshield on, pointed in the right direction, exits at a good spot, Even though I hear many bikes that are louder, once I'm on mine it sounds loud enough for where I'm at on the bike.

From the digging I've done, there's not much you can do exhaust wise to mess anything up. I've read that the exhaust only affects your jetting 10 percent of what an intake will do. And most bikes are jetted rich from the factory. If mine wasn't rich, it wouldn't pop.

Also you were still running baffles even without the inserts. The pipes have a permanent baffle in there.

What is the a/c and sepst you mention??? Air Cleaner and ????

Thanks,

Joe
