Default Rode the Tail of the Dragon today...

First time taking the 129 road. If you own a softail and it has floor boards you will have a blast. My 39" Cholos survived without any problems at all. I will be going back because it was raining on us today, but it was still a blast to ride. Everyone needs to put it on your bucket list. Now on our way to New York for our 343 brothers.

Pretty timely post for me anyway. We are heading out there this saturday from chicago area. I was there "back in the day" and pretty sure I hit the tail of the dragon, although I don't believe it was called that then. I don't remember that far back anyway. We will be staying at a campground that caters to motorcycles near the tail for a few days and use that as our base. We will see how that goes and opt for a hotel if the weather is bad or we don't like it. Take care. Jim

Deals Gap is the place you maybe staying at. The history channel was there filming today. We went in and had lunch and then came back out to hang out with others.. I cranked up some tunes and a worker came and asked me to turn it off because it was affecting their filming. Lol I laughed and told them bikers like music. But I did turn it down.

I did nothing but scrape my floorboards while my dad glided on through on his bagger. I was jealous

I rode that for the first time in June, drove a few thousand mile to get there and it was worth every second. I got passed by a few crotch rockets, but me and the OL made it through and only ficked up a few pipe/board scratches...

Bill Allen owner of Bill Allen Motorcycles here in College Station, Texas is up there right now. He is the one they are filming. They are doing some kind of show across the U.S. He is the one wearing the Street Pizza shirt.
