I must be getting old....
I would not put stock pipes on my bike just for the performance loss. I work for a hearing company and understand the sound issues but I wear plugs when I ride. For me its not about the sound its about what is right for the motor. Your "new" pipes are going to choke that motor. Pull the AC off and put the football back and fine, but right now you have way too much inhale for your exhale.
One thing I miss about stock pipes is that I think it may be the best header design for controlling heat near the rider. This is because the softail stock rear pipe is angled straight to the rear of the bike. Most aftermarket rigs bring the rear pipe forward and down before turning it back to the rear.
When my bike was stock it put out way too much heat. I added fuel management with the stock pipes and the heat issue was completely cured. Then I wanted more performance, so I upgraded the pipes. But, although I have a tunable fuel management system, I've never gotten it to run that cool again. Of course the 2:1 has better power, so I didn't go back. If I was doing it again I would keep the stock headers and go with slipons instead.
