T 3, I was looking at those same boots Saturday. I didn't know they were waterproof. I will go check them out again. I have a nice pair of redwing steeltoe boots, but they freeze my toes.
I called all local redwing dealers, and none had the motorcycle boots in stock.
Hope they work out for you if you get'em.I would have spent anything up to $150 on boots and wasn't in any hurry.Took my wife to find some shoes she wanted at a big high volume shoe store near here and all the made in China boots (including the Harley Davidsons) they had cost almost as much as Redwings.I didn't see anything worth comitting to and figured I'd take my time looking.

Later on Mrs T3 asked me to run up to Walmart with her for some other stuff she needed and for a reality check I figured Walmart would probably have some made in China boots that are priced at appropriate made in China prices.

When I saw the Herman Survivor Kodiaks for 50 bucks I knew I couldn't go wrong.

I want a pair of Redwings but not for on the bike.

My favs are the traditional black leather military issue. I have a set of the heavy weather Danner style boots also. And they are very inexpensive. I can by a pair of each for less than $150 at any local Army/Navy surplus store and some are new and some are already broke in. Now if you want ot look like a Harley billboard thats fine, I think the quality of the Wolverine (HD) boot is lacking, the original Double H boot is much better quality. One suggestion, coming from a military vet, fill the boots with water to break them in.

I couldn't believe I found these today at Walmart ???

Herman Survivors
Model: Kodiak
All Leather Uppers
Composite Toe Protection (Won't freeze your feet like steel)
Waterproof
Thinsulate Liners
Oil and slip resistant Soleplate
$ 49.99 My previous Herman Surviviors were made in USA,the ones I purchased at Walmart were made in China

Herman Survivors is the oldest continuing manufacturer of outdoor boots since 1879. - Note:As of November 2000, the Herman Survivors footwear brand (formerly Herman Survivors, Inc.) is under exclusive control of Wal-Mart. Herman Survivors boots sales and customer service are available only from Wal-Mart
I'll make a bet that they are some great boots. I have two pairs or Wallyworld boots that I paid less than 30 bucks a pair for. I can't find anything wrong with either of them.

Payless Shoe Source. Genuine Leather, Steel Toe, Black - Fraction of the cost

Then again, I wouldn't advertise that!
