Default PCIII and my bike

been looking into getting a programmer....kinda like the PCIII because of price and the things I have read.....But when I look at the MAPs on their website, it says there is no map for my model? 2005 Heritage classic with stage one K&N and Rinehart pipes.....how do I fix this? how do you really adjust the maps on these? Do I have to wait for a map? thanks!

Round Rock Texas...home of the worlds largest donut...Ive read that you can call them and they will send you a specific map for your bike if there isnt one on the net. But others know far more than I. I had the dealer install the sert and tune mine on a dyno. You get the best tune that way, but it does cost you.

Hey Rocky - I just saw a thread earlier today with a guy selling a PCIII for $140 shipped (I think). If you're considering a PCIII that would be a great deal for you. Take a look at the classifieds if you're interested.

There's gotta be a map for your setup. Or if not your exact setup, something very close. Afterall, all you have is an AC and mufflers.

Get it dyno tuned. I know Central Texas HD has a dyno, but don't know what they charge for a dyno tune. I had mine dynoed, and it ran much better than a canned map without decel pop.

Still learning a lot on this topic myself, but what are you looking to do in the end, just simple tuning and not so much the high performance tuning that would be needed for motor modifications such as cams etc?

If all you are talking about is the stage 1 and pipes, from what I've learned in my research (I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong) all you really need is something to adjust the fuel. This can be inexpensive compared to getting into all the higher end $600 to $800 systems and finding a tuner, requiring dyno time etc.

If you are just concerned with tuning for your current mod's AC and pipes, I'd look at something like the TFI by Dobeck Performance. There are a couple others out there V&H is one I remember reading about. The TFI is a super easy install and only requires a screwdriver to adjust, no computers, no dynos etc. They have great tech support etc.

I'm running the TFI on my Lux and it is all I really need because at this time my only real performance type mod's are pipes and probably a Ness Big Sucker AC in the near future. Check it out and maybe it'll provide you a simple and less expensive method to achieve what you are looking for, if it's to manage only the performance mod's you've mentioned.

Dobeck Performance

You'll need to create an account at this site to see the information, but there are some great youtube videos linked here that'll show how simple this solution is.
Some great install and tuning videos

EDIT - Just wanted to add that I'm not selling, just sharing my limited experience.

Check into the Cobra FI2000 Power Pro. I put one on my 09 Heritage and love it. Its plug and play - takes anout 45 minutes to install and then you forget about it. It adjusts something like 60 times a second - you get a continuous Dyno tune as you go down the road. I think it is an awesome piece of electronics I am very happy with mine and my riding buddy is pissed he didn't the same thing - he went with a SERT and dyno tune - and keeps spending money on dyno time....paul

SERT and HD tune it on a dyno. Unless money is in the way, then you take the risk of doing it wrong and damaging your engine. ;(
