Welcome to the forums. Be sure to check out the Calling all Fatboy Lo owners thread. Lots of great people and ideas in there. I have not heard of any one having a problem dragging or scraping their engine guard.

I wouldn't worry too much about dragging the engine guard. It's up high enough that you would drag your floor board mounts long before that and that would cause enough problems all by itself.

I have a nostolsic engine guard on my lo and there is no issue of dragging it.

The floorboards are the early warning system... have to go over quite a bit more to catch guard.

My friend says I ride aggressive, he says this because of the trail of sparks I leave as I go into a turn, but I have yet to scrape my engine guard.

Why the mustache bar, if you don't mind me asking? To me the footrest on it seem to high to actually be useable.

Ditto on the footrest too high and too close. I do like the looks of the stash better though.

I have the mustache guard. If you scrape it, you're sliding down the road on your side. I can vouch for the "too high" foot rests. I'm only 5'8" and they were "ok" on long trips but not really all that comfortable and they felt a little awkward. Now that I put on the SE Heavy Breather, the right hand side is not accessable anymore. Just something to think about...

Like the look of the Stache bar because of the minimal look it has. The footrest isn't really a problem for me because of the fact I'm about 5'5" so I'm really to short to use highway pegs i can stretch out pretty nicely on the footboards. Main reason I'm looking at a engine guard is for the possibility of laying the bike not planning on it but would like the security.
