Does anyone know if the 2012 Heritage Softail Classic speedometer backlighting is light sensitive? I was riding today and noticed the backlighting wasn't on at all.. then later it was on.. I wasn't sure if this is normal or if a bump caused the light to come on.. any ideas?

 

have an 11 flstc and although hd says its not light sensitive,it most certainly is,u can c it come on when going into garage from daylight.at first i thought it was going out,malfunctioning.after a few experimental rides have determined it is light sensitive,my mech didnt think so till i let him wheel it in and out of my garage

 

I recently bought my wife a 2012 Heritage Classic, and we've noticed the light not on all the time. I'm not quite sure it's light sensitive, but there is certainly something going on with it. I'll have to do a light test and see.

 

I have a 2013 Heritage. It definitely is light sensitive. I told the mechanic at my dealership I thought it was, he called the speedo manufacturer & was told it is light sensitive. Sensor is at lower right in speedo
