Arlen Ness Cracked?!
I ran a Stage 1 Big Sucker for about 4 years on my Train, and liked the look and performance of it.
But yeah the plate cracked, and yeah, I know how to use a torque wrench.
I just figure that sometimes **** happens.
I replaced it with an S&S unit last year, runs great and I like the old school teardrop look.

Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage I$109.95
Arlen Ness kits include a Big Sucker aluminum backing plate, Team Ness High-Flow air filter, Chrome banjo bolts and simple instructions and all necessary hardware. This kit performs well, the filter element is a cleanable type. Note that this air cleaner is made in China.

DOH! The dealer website that you pulled that from is incorrect unfortunately. The bolts and plate are made in Taiwan, but the filter element is made in the USA. All of our parts are backed by a full 1 year warranty and we've never turned anyone down with snapped bolts or backing plate even out of warranty. We stand behind our product

Ive had mine for 2 years now 1st one I installed cracked and I USED A TORQUE WRENCH. Arlen Ness sent me a new one. When I installed that one I used gasket sealer on the the backing plate and tightend the bolts about as tight as you would a screw in your wristwatch. And used loctite. I actually have no problems there. What I do have a problem with is the oil thats supposed to be sucked back into the throttle body doesnt get sucked back . Instead it runs down to the bottom of the filter. After any lengthy ride I have to take the filter off and wipe down the backing plate. This has been this way since day one. And I keep my oil on the low side of the dipstick so its not overfull for all you critics. I dont know what the solution is other than maybe getting a Dougherty and capturing the oil in the little containers they have.??????
Who should I ask for? I have the same cracked bolt problem...
