Quick update.... my gloss black primary cover FINALLY arrived!!!! I ordered it 3 months ago. HUGE back-order! I almost cancelled the order several times, but decided to wait it out since I already paid for it. Now, I need to decide if I'll tackle the job myself or just have the dealership do it. I'll post pics when it's finished.

Jaburg -
FWIW, I replaced my stock primary with a wrinkle black one myself. Drained the oil, removed the derby cover, removed left floorboard, removed stock primary and gasket. Fought a little with aligning new primary gasket and primary cover. Bolted new cover back on, replaced stock parts and filled with primary oil.
I only had to borrow a torque wrench from the neighbor to make sure I had the correct torque on each bolt. Bought a Service Manual and it showed me step by step how to do all of the above with minimal tools.
Hope this helps.

It does help, and thank you! I have the service manual, a torque wrench, and the allen sockets to fit, so I'll start in on it early Saturday morning. I'm stopping at the dealership tonight after work to pick it up, along with a derby and primary gasket. This'll make a huge difference in looks on the left side of the bike.
