Opinions wanted!!!!
I've LOVED those wheels since day 1 when they were sitting on your counter. But if you start chroming, I don't think the wheels would flow.
Personally, I like when the bars match the pipes, So I'd wrap the pipes..
Then pull the Deluxe badge off the front fender since Deluxes are supposed to be ChromeWhores!

The two tone paint is nostalgic / classic. The bars, wheels mirrors etc are very modern. They clash together like the bike is trying to go in 2 directions.
Get a paint job and ditch the lamp visors is what I'd do.

First of all: that is a smashing bike, and I'd be happy to ride it as is.
But since you asked:
I would paint or powder coat your head light, turn signals and passing lights black and switch your turn-signal lenses to smoked.
The oil tank would look great black too and I would consider powder coating the pipes black.
A black crash bar up front will beef up the bike in all the right places and suit the color scheme. I went for a black crash bar instead of chrome on my Springer Classic.
When the cash is available, white walls will look killer! I wouldn't change the paint, I've always liked black and white on a Deluxe. Put the money into white walls instead.
I'm customizing my Springer Classic at the moment, and I too am trying to find the right balance between black and chrome too. Right now, I'm trying to decide whether to with all black mammoth fat spokes or black rims and diamond cut chrome spokes.

I agree, I think your sled is looking good! Some things would change it up to maybe make the paint combo pop more without going all black on the tins.
Chap I think hit on one of the things that I know on my sled really made the paint combo work, and that is WWs. My sled had black walls when I first bought her (used) and I hated my paint combo. After doing the WWs it really made the two color combo paint pop and work out. That glacier white pearl is awesome in the sun!
If it were me, I'd try the WWs before changing the front end back to chrome just to see if that is enough to make it pop in your eyes. I wouldn't do anything with those wheels!! If the WWs don't make it work for you, then proceed with the expensive venture of chroming the front end again. But I'm thinking WWs might make a big difference.
You already mentioned you are lowering the front end which will really improve the look IMO especially with the long tails.
You'd like it with the plate moved either with a softbrake or axle mount maybe?
None of the above is meant to be negative because I do like your sled and the wheels I think are killer and will work. But I agree, there is something that feels missing and I"m not sure I can pin point it but maybe the things mentioned will help.
Black & White Mafia forever! Never change that pain bro!
And BTW, you know we love to help spend other brothers $$$$$!!

Shorten the pipes, maybe black, new a/c, white walls would be alright, roll the bars forward an inch or two. Minus the pipes that bike kills it dude, love it. Oh ya the helmet sucks and the jacket I would change. Way to rad of a bike for harley garb.
