Default Nighttrain - Worth it?

Ok here's my question. I recently bought a 2010 48 and really love the bike, well my wife now wants to take the NSF course and get her endorsement. So we're thinking of getting me a bike a bit bigger for my 6'5" frame. One I can get my legs a bit more out in front of me. Well we found this bike at a local dealer here in town.

2007 Softtail Nighttrain
@ 31,000 miles
with
Stage 1
V&H exhaust
Air Cleaner
Willie G Pegs/Grips
Wheels

and they are asking almost $14,000 for it.

Do you think it's worth it or should it be cheaper with the mileage it has on it? Take into account I'm rather new to buying bikes, my 48 is my first and I've only had that for around 3 months.

Thanks,

-Jason

I think that the price, while a tad high (especially in this economy), is worth it. That's a beautiful Pewter Denim (my Train came in that color) with a lot of parts that you'd have added anyway.

31,000 over 5 years= about 6,000/year. That's up there, but if the previous owner took care of it, you should be good to go.

Trains aren't made anymore and they're (at least in my area) quite rare.

I say GO FOR IT.

Still a big fan of the trains... I would say stock that would be the best fit for your frame, you can even extend the controls further if needed.

To much for the miles and year.Expand your search and be willing to travel. 11k would be more in line. At 6-5 you would need 3" extensions to be comfortable. I'm 6-0 and needed them to stretch out. Lots of good deals in the south east.Train isn't made anymore granted but is not really a rare bike with the numbers that were produced.Keep looking if you really want one.

Got my Night Train not too long ago. Paid 11K with extras so in my opinion 14K is a little high. Mine had 14000 miles on it. I also bought mine from a private owner too.

Nice bike, see if the owner will bring the price down.

Too high imho. I bought my 2008 about 1.5 years ago from a private owner. Had a stage 1 kit with V&H pipes. He was asking $14500.00 but ended up getting it for $12000.00. It only had 980 miles on it. Wasn't even broken in yet. Shop around on Craigslist bro. You can find a better deal with less miles.

I think it a bit high for Florida if you search around and are willing to drive there are better deals out there. Check out cycle trader and craig's list. I bought my 08 nighttrain with alot of upgrades for 13k with only 7000 miles on it a year and a half ago in Sanford Florida. I would keep looking unless you are burning to get it then go ahead as long as you are happy who cares what I think.

ChopperExchange. Hundreds of bikes. Lots in your area. Some private, most dealers.
Nice bike, too much for the miles, IMHO. Plenty of better deals out there, but if your heart is set on this one, bargain with him.
