I'm Out
In the last two years I've lost 4 friends I graduated HS with, all under 60 years old:
1. Art: Died from complications from a stroke. Didn't smoke, drink, or otherwise do stupid stuff. He did ride a Harley, which had nothing to do with his death.
2. Jim: Died from brain cancer. Used to ride a Yamaha 650 bout 30 years ago.
3. Mickey: Health nut. Ate right, didn't smoke or drink. Ran every day. Died in the middle of his morning run with one of those 'widow-maker' heart attacks.
4. Chris: Didn't smoke or drink. Maybe a tad overweight but not obese. Another 'widow-maker' heart attack.
And there's one of the owners of Frazier's HD in Buford, GA.
Ralph, Jr. Killed while seeking shelter during a storm on a motorcycle camping trip ... by a damn falling tree!!!
Yeah, motorcycles are dangerous!

It's a tight-rope we walk (ride) for sure. I can almost guarantee to have to lock my brakes up once a week from some snoozer pulling straight out in front of me. Shakes you up for a few seconds, but you either get back on the horse or you don't.
Most of us who ride have a bit of the dare-devil in us, so we take all that as a learning experience and move on. I can see where it can be a bit too much for some though.
You really got to hand it do those who have really smashed their bikes and bodies up and then get back on the saddle. I'm not sure I could. Hope I never find out.

Those female drivers under 20 are the worst threat that you have. If they are not texting, or dialing the phone, talking on the phone, riding like their hooked to you, then they are left turning in front of you which just happened to a local Harley rider and his wife just two miles from my house. The guy was killed and his wife was seriously injured.
Mike,
I am in CT as well and there are so many roads and times that I refuse to ride on. I avoids highways, major routes, churches, schools and major shopping areas due to the dumb assery here.
Coincidently
I was thinking about a heritage in the color combo you have with abs, if you are serious and come up with a reasonable price, let me know, maybe we can work something out.

Adding a good Stebel air horn really helps. Saved my butt many times. Also, try not to ever ride directly next to another vehicle. Stay in my lane, a few feet behind the rear bumper of cars on either side of me. If I need to get past them, I do it damn quickly. Sorry you've given up, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
