Default 2007 Fatboy tires

Newbie - 2007 FLSTF, SE A/C, VH big radius, SERT stage I map. I don't like the disc wheels, the tires are some new Dunlop/HD creation which isn't on the market. HD web site says D205, but tires on bike say D407. Y - chevron tread pattern, not too grabby, ESPECIALLY in H2O. Tread depth looks like they will be good for < 2K miles. Looking at HOGPRO 18 P-3 wheels with lower profile AVON venom's ("same" diameter)vs 17's with METZLER's. Any thoughts? Anybody tried different tires with or without changing wheels?

I got 6300 out of my rear tire. Want to go to a Metz. They make a 210 but not sure it will work. I am looking for something...

HogPro is a featured sponor of this site. They seem very helpful and knowlegeable. They suggested going to 18 " wheels and lower profile tires to keep the same diameter. I am not sure . . .

At this point, only Dunlop is making the exact size OEM tires, but I suspect this will change in the future. The idea of going with 18" wheels and tires is a bad one, but, as you point, that means a lower profile and this "could" mean a harder ride.

I'm leaning toward Metzler's on 17's. Probably go with 210 on rear 6.00 - hope it doesn't pinch to much!
