Default Installing Custom Dynamics Magic Strobe on 2012

Hey all,

Just got my Softail Slim and installed my Custom Dynamics led's. Also picked up the Custom Dynamics Magic Strobe controller that plugs into the brake lights. Problem is, there are separate wires and plugs for each side of the bikes run/brake/turn signals. (Reminder-the Slim has only the two taillights, no separate brake light). The plugs are not the usual set-up as you would find on other Harleys. I talked to Custom Dynamics and they advised that somewhere below the battery and oil tank is the corresponding plug going to the taillights where the controller gets plugged into. They are not real familiar with the 2012 Slim set-up. Has anyone done any digging into the area and found the plug? Thanks in advance!

I am No help but I hope someone chimes in because I really want to do this to my slim too. I just pulled my seat to look and I can see the two plugs that go out to the tail/brk/turn lights. Along with a third plug that goes to the tag light. All three seem to bundle togeather an go up under the fuel tank.
How well do the led lights work, did you get the fronts too, any photos?

The led's are truly the best way to add brighter and trouble-free lighting to your bike. I have had Custom Dynamics Genesis led's for several years on several of my bikes and have been very impressed. Other riders comment on how bright they are. They have both front and rear, as well as some neat combinations of white and amber led's for the front. Here is a link to them:

If I remember correctly they are guaranteed for life and extremely simple to install. When you have a bike like the Slim with only the turn signals as your rear lighting you should have something bright and reliable. I like having a flashing brake light to get folks attention and hope I can find the plug to install the new module.

Take the two "break out" connectors that you have found and follow them back up towards the front of the bike. As you follow them you will see they come together into another connector, this is the connector that you need. I have installed the Magic Strobes on a couple Slims at Daytona earlier this year, I may have a picture of the install somewhere, I will try to find it.

Custom Dynamics thought they would be under the battery/oil tank. So they are under the tank? Thanks for the info, please let me know.

They end up being under the seat, not the tank, but the connector was tucked way down in on the 2 bikes that I did. Thanks Dave, CD

Hey Dave,

I've been digging with no luck. Not a lot of room there to put a connector. The only couple of connectors I found were farther to the rear and did not match. I see the wires where they go down in the loom and it almost looks like they come back up in a larger loom and under the left side of the fuel tank. However, there are so many wires and so little space I cannot tell for sure. Any further thoughts, (or pics)? Again, thanks!
