heritage without sissy bar? opinions please
I really find myself liking some of the softail models that do not have sissy bars so I took the time yesterday to remove it. It looks good but the seat has so much overhang over the sides. Its an older bike and the seat needed replaced anyway so I ordered a saddleman profiler seat. I think it will look better overall with not having a sissy bar and a slimer seat. Anyone else remove their sissy bar from a heritage?
+1 what oct1949 said. I have gone a little nuts with two different backrests and several seats depending on where I'm riding and if my wife wants to go. I really like the look with the saddle bags and backrest removed and with the badlander seat installed.
+1 on the quick disconnect equipment...the only way to go. from solo to 2-up in minutes. A buddy has an '01 heritage. Baker 6 speed, big bore cams, $10K worth of chrome, 14" apes with some some longshot fishtail pipes. She's a badda$$ ride. He rides without the backrest and pillion and no bags...looks freakin' amazing.

As others said...get a quick detach for the back rest...I ride solo and prefer the rider seat w/bags only. It takes a couple minutes to add the passenger pillon and back rest back on the bike.
Cool, I thought this would be a dead thread. Yeah, I didnt know any better, thoght a sissy bar was a backrest. Glad you all seemed to know a newbie when you see one and understood what I was reffering to. I didnt know about the quick detach backrest. I'll find it and may buy something like that. My corbin is real comfy with a driver backrest, just a little big and bulky without a backrest. I'd like to keep it just in case. My wife NEVER rides with me, has no cares to. Its unfortunate. Funny, she loves to hunt and fish. Me, not so much. Well, yall have some awesome looking backrestless bikes, glad I made the decision. They almost look like RKs but better
