Scraping the boards is just part of riding the lo in my opinion. I scraped them pulling out of the dealer on my testdrive, and scrape them everytime I ride. They are aluminum so you don't have to worry about rust. Its fun in a way, it is very loud and obnoxious

Got the 2013 fat boy lo last Saturday and i love it! I got the candy orange, and it looks pretty cool l,it kind of has a bit of a red tint to it, especially in the sunlight. The mix of black and orange is balanced out nicely. I've already scrapped the left footboard but that's just part of it. I can't seem to stop anywhere without someone saying how good it looks, and i haven't even done anything to it yet, lol!
