Personally I don't like them, agree that it makes me think of the little civics with the freakin coffee can mufflers. However a buddy seen a guy running down the highway at night (no street lights) with them on and he said it really made the bike more visible especially from the side. So I would consider them for additional safety lighting, but don't think I would do it for looks at bike night or the local watering hole. Sometimes my bike not being lit up is only way I can find my bike with all the other neon lit ones. But check local laws for sure if you plan to use them going down the road.

Think it's a good idea why not? .... we know where the bridges and buildings are but many are lit up at night and they look even better right! .... just some people who knock em don't have a clue ..... anyway 2 thing's to remember when fitting them hide the LEDS you want to see the light not the bulb many people show the LEDS and that look's naff ... secondly make a note of the wiring and the way it's fitted cos if it's goes **** up and you need to replace some LEDS believe me it help's ..... good luck

Had them on my 03 Sporty, just had them put on my 10 Lo. This time I went with a UV purple (think black light) to go with the denim Lo. Agree with what was said above. Make sure the LED's are hidden, makes it look much better in my humble opinion.

I overheard a conversation at Americade and I thought they said the the colored LED's have been made legal in PA and were sold to the legislature as a safety and they increased visibility.

Here is my Lo

I agree with Harleyfiremedic in that all colors are now legal in PA. However, FLASHING LEDs are not permitted while moving. This is from the state Highway patrol. => http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/06.../s175.146.html

I put the HD headlight that they sell for about $150 on my 2010 Softail. Huge improvement over stock. Can't see how more money would improve it that much.

Only LED's on my bike are the tail light and turn signals.
I like the fact that they turn on and off faster and brighter than the stock bulbs making the bike more visible day or night.

You know what they say about opinions...anyway.

I have leds on my bike and I like them. I get alot of compliments on them as well. other than the novelty I alos like that they make you more visable at night.

There are lots of them on the market and you pretty much get what you pay for. The solid colors are cheaper than the multi color changing lights. I have the boogey lights multi color lights (fireworks I believe). They come in strips and pods for mounting in different locations and are some of the brightest (if not the brightest) on the market. They also have a lifetime warranty.

As stated before take care in mounting and wire routing it makes a much cleaner job. The lights with the raised bulbs don't look that good when you can see the bulbs. They look like a row of little bulbs instead of a glowing effect. There are some led strips on ebay for cheap. They are not as sturdy others I have used but hold up pretty well. I used to think all leds were the same but after using different ones they are most certainly not.

I have installed several sets on friends bikes so if you decide to go for it and need some tips don't hesitate to ask.
