Default lepera or danny gray

ok heres the situation i'm 5'6 140. 2004 fatboy 14 inch carlini apes. i have a danny gray speed cradle and a lepera silouette upfront. I feel like i'm sitting to high. I'm lowering the bike 1 inch. I found someone to redo the seats maybe take an inch of foam from the rear and top of seat. about 100 bucks a seat. Or should I buy a bare bones or buttcrack or weekday from danny gray. I'm a newbie but i ride alot.. I rode this bike and it felt great. My bike feels clunky and like i'm not a part of it. yet i'm to forward with the seats i have.

Personally, I try to support the local mom and pop shops so I had my seat/bib work done locally.

I have the barebones solo and sit deep into the bike perfectly on my 2005 heritage! I got mine used for $75.00 on craigslist with Gel in it but after 2-3hrs of riding my behind needs a break.. Definetly not the seat for long trips!

The Lepera Bare Bones is my seat of choice. It drops you down and back and actually makes you feel like your part of the bike instead of feeling like your sitting on top of it. I went with the Bare Bones and 16"x1 1/2" apes on my '11 Deluxe and I'm 5'7".

I emailed C&C, Danny Gray and Le Pera about a seat when I was in the market. Le Pera was the only one I heard back from. Guess DG and C&C weren't interested in doing business with someone in Japan...

I can't speek about Danny Gray seats first hand, I've only heard they are nice seats....BUT I can speek about LePera....I've had 4 of them over the last 10 yrs and without a doubt their the best seats I've ever tried.....That from a guy thats use just about all the other major brands and went back to Lepera every time...Harley, Mustang, Corbin, and a few others over the years on baggers and softails mostly....I found most about seats is they are like helmets, work boots or sneekers....whats comfortable for me isn't always comfortable for the next guy....

Same here, I had the lepara Bare bones restitched by a local shop and loved it. Seems as though the seat was made for my big ***.

Lord, I wish there was a place where you could actually sit on these different aftermarket seats. Quite expensive to buy *** un-sat...

I'm leaning towards the Lepera Silhouette. Looks to have a tad bit more padding:

the Lepera bare bones with gel is hard as wood....looks cool on the bike but you'd be better off sittin on the bare frame . I currently have the Danny Gray buttcrack.......sits just as low if not lower than the lepera and you actualy "fit" into it as opposed to the flat surface of the lepera. The butcrack is comfy but as all low profile seats go.....forget about that 4 hour straight ride......more like 2 hours , stop for a smoke.....another 2 hours....and so on . Danny gray over that lepera any day .

I own a couple Le Pera seats including the bare-bones and it does sit you down low and further back. It's not comfy at all though so if you ride many miles at a time you might need a few butt breaks.

I'm gonna take my bare-bones to a local shop and have them shave it down further. I dislike how thick it looks even though it is their bare bones seat. Plus I don't like how much foam is up at the rear top part of the seat.

I should also add that the people at Le Pera are very easy to deal with and super friendly!
