Whenever you change ANYTHING having to do with performance you need to get new info to the ECM or brain. Downloaded maps are never right. You can take the same 2 identical bikes off the factory line and they will read different. The only way to tune your bike correctly is to dyno. Don't work for them but dynojet power commander is the best out there. I can get a bike to run perfect stoichiometric effiency (best air/fuel mixture)through all gears/rpms with dyno. This will make your bike run better than from the factory line. The only way. Basically if you have the cash, the best upgrade you can do is fine tune with power commander. Just remember you will have to do exhaust and intake. You will be amazed at the difference and you can bet you will get the most life out of your engine.
Very true! Can't believe the difference. Not only would you think it's not the same bike, but you'd think it was a different manufacturer!!! My Indy couldn't believe how crap the factory set up was - and that was on a dealer fitted Screamin Eagle module (The name's good but the 'tuneability' is rubbish).

Had mine done at the dealer when new..

Found the reason she popped was the wrench didn't get the clamps on correct and I had Air Leaks on both muffs..

As soon as they re-installed them the right way,, NO more popping...

I have a SE intake, V&H slip ons, V&H FuelPak. I went with the V&H recommended settings on the FuelPak. Can it be improved - tuned even better - by having it dyno'd?? Or is there not enough fine tuning capability in the Fuel Pak? Thanks

PCV all the way! 2012 FLSTC, all stock with Rush 1.75. Lots of popping. Installed the Power Commander, and a few tweaks later, 95% of popping gone. Next step is Stage 1 and Dyno.

Been running Rush 1.75s of two 08 Softails for several years. One even has a K&N AC on it. Both are otherwise stock and neither has ever had popping on decel. I guess after reading of all the complaints about the issue we should consider ourselves lucky.

Did the Samson fishtails on my '09 Heritage, no other mods or computer changes. No popping or anything of that sort, just beautiful music.

2007 Fatboy. Installed V&H Straightshots and got popping on decel. Bought K&N highflow air filter + V&H "Fuelpak" module with V&H suggested settings. Still pops on decel.
