Can't comment on beach bars but really like my drag bars. Real comfortable, at least for me....I'm 6'3'' if it matters.

I have the stock deluxe bars rotated down kinda like beach bars. Not as good looking as beach bars, but quite comfy. I was thinking about apes, cause I all I heard was how comfy they are. Maybe you could try 2" shorter ones.

I put Burly beach bars on my 2012 Deluxe - best thing since sliced bread! Been riding 40 years and they're the most comfortable bars I've ever come across. There's a knack to slow speed manoevres, but its soon learned. Big plusses for me: Warmer hands and no dead fingers thanks to the improved position. My first 200 miles felt like 200 yards. Brilliant!

Beach bars might be the ticket. I have a friend with a Road King and beach bars and he loves 'em. Always wanting me to sit on his bike and check them out like I'm going to get rid of my apes the minute I get home.

Don't get me wrong, they are comfortable. You're not reaching out so far for the grips, and sitting up straighter. What was it someone told me in Carlini ape hanger thread, it's only money?. LOL.

Check out the Wild 1 Chubby 550 Beach Bar pictures on a deluxe at their web site.

My suggestion, measure your self, measure your bike and put that bars that fit you one it. I went that route and it worked out perfect. I took the current bars loosened them off cmpletely and dropped them out of the way. I sat on the bike up right, put my arms where I wanted them while holding a broom stick, and had my young fella measure the height and pull back to my hands. I end ed up with 12" Roland Sands Vintage bars and Made a set of 2" risers, its perfect just took alittle messing around but its well worth the hassel, 500km days and the shoulder are gtg and the back is sore but that is cause i have a bad back. Just my 2 cents.

I was never comfortable on my stock deluxe. I rode it 1800 miles to California the first summer I had it and I was ready to get rid of it. Then I put an engine guard and hwy pegs on it and that made a world of difference. Then I put the C&C solo with backrest on and then it was even better. Then I put on the 38.5" Burly Beach Bars and its like riding a lazy boy. Ive never had any pain riding since.

Hmmm, more food for thought. As soon as I get ready to pull the trigger on some apes a thread like this one pops up. I have had guys tell me that the apes are the best thing since gold teeth then a thread pops up where a guy can't take them any more and has to get rid of them. I wish I could find a bike to "rent" that had apes on them. I would hate to make a 1k mistake!
