Default new tires

i need new tires and have been looking at something other than stock for better performance, keeping in mind i drive in the rain and when its kinda cold (i live in canada) dirt roads, rough pavement etc.... i pretty much ride anywhere a street bike can go

i was considering michelin commanders 2 or some avon venoms but a friend of mine said he found the comanders to break free too easily when they are cold, he also mentioned perrelli night dragons but i have not heard much about them.

i would like to hear what tires people think will work for me and the road conditions they will be exposed to.

has anyone here experienced the commanders breaking free easily when it is cold out (compared to other brands)

and does anyone have any experience with the pirrelli night dragons

There is an article in the forums January newsletter comparing the Dunlap to the Commander. Of course, the article is written by Dunlap, so it's like watching MSNBC for unbiased news.

i've got avon venoms on my ultra. came on the bike when i bought it. getting ready to switch back to dunlop 402. avons seem like a softer compound, and are pricey compared to the dunlops. i've been running dunlops on the fatboy sine day one. get good mileage, good price, and ride well....steve

Lots of us here in Softy land have or are changing over to the new Mich's Commander II's

I've got about 3k on ours and I like them better than the Lops 401's and 402's I've used for 5ys..

If they last as long as Michelin claims they will, they will be hard to beat in every category.

Since this is a matter of opinion because I doubt any of us have tried every tire out there ill have to say my personal favorite tire id the dunlop E3 hands down. Im running avons now cause the e3 dont come in a 250 rear or else I would have stayed with em. Way more grip than any other tire I've tried.
