Default Old school DImyself air cleaner

Figured I show some pics of what my dad and I put together
I just bought the PM intake last year , but im now in the transition to making my bike a look old school, so I needed a new ac but didnt want to spend the money, so we came up with this so all I need is to remove three bolts to swith between the two

Total spent $10, had all the materials except filter and the cover I picked up at a junk yard, surface rust was taken off by scotch brite pad, we spun it in the drill press

Now I have 2 ac that can be changed with 3 bolts

When I read the title of the post I thought I was going to see some cobbled up homemade filter...

Nice work, very nice.

Man that is some sweet looking work right there!
Two questions when you get a moment,
With no backing plate what keeps dust/dirt from sneaking in behind the filter and straight into the intake?

What is the cover made from? Is it an old car air cleaner cover or some other auto related piece?

Regardless, that is good stuff you should be proud of right there!
