Also drain and refill the primary oil. If it has too much it makes finding neutral quite difficult. Use what it says in the manual. If it is a twin cam 20-24 oz's. Not sure on an evo.

I hate to sound ignorant... but why is this?
Safety. It says that in the owners manual and was approved by the mother company's team of lawyers. It works either way. Besides just for me anyway, my shift lever is fine tuned for me and I have more control levering up to neutral and not over shooting it.
