Hi. Working on my son's 92 Fatboy with starter problem. I have the ignition switch in the off position and battery ground disconnected. When I touch the ground lead to the battery I get a big spark like a short but starter doesn't turn over. I pulled the heavy lead from the battery to the starter and found no evidence of a cable short to ground. With a switch connected to B+ and the solenoid trigger it just clicks (no short this way). I wouldn't expect the starter to turn over as the power lead is disconnected. Is this an internal starter motor short? Solenoid short? Not sure what I'm seeing here. Any help much appreciated.
