There had to have been something up with that street glide. My road glides ride is WAY softer than my softail.

I am going to ride a 14 street glide and compare the two.

If you keep your Deluxe you'll have a much easier time finding it at the end of Bike Nite than you would if you had a Street Glide.

SG has a shorter suspension than the other Touring bikes but still shouldn't have been less comfortable than your Softail. Keep in mind the SG has air suspension. If it was loaded with air b/c he likes a hard ride or had set it up for 2-up then it would have been less comfortable. Letting some air out would make a world of difference.

Seat is a very common mod. No doubt you've changed yours. Can't hold that against the bike.

Blind spots on a bike? That's a new one. I do agree I don't think SG mirrors are the best. Love/hate and I'm in the hate camp. Hate the way they look and hate using them.

Best of luck in whatever you decide.

I guess I should've elaborated on the blind spot; I was referring not being able to see straight ahead for anything close. I guess I am so used to having a clear windshield on all of my previous bikes. I guess I should've asked the owner of the SG if he had the rear shocks aired up.

Here's my personal experience. My 11 FatBoy Lo is the smoothest riding, best handling HD.It takes the twisties well, and loves to have her boards sharpened. It's not as much fun on the Highway and thats where my SG does its best. I have fooled around a bit with the air susp, and may need to add Progressive shocks, but as it stands a pothole or bump that is felt with the SG isn't felt at all with the FatBoy. They are both cool bikes, just different in their strengths. Ride well and long my friends!!

Comfort is subjective.

Not anymore.
For 2014 I believe they did away with the rear air shocks and went back to conventionals...
That was one of the first things I noticed while looking over a SG.

No, only the street glide special got the coil over style shocks. Regular street glide still has the air shocks. Street glide special also got the painted inner fairing, touch screen head unit with NAV and I believe ABS is standard
