Default Oil change question

Good Day All, for those of you who do your own oil changes to your vicla's, do you have to have the bike up on a motorcycle jack? Just being curious. Thanks in advance.

you don't have to no.
I find it easier to change the oil on the ground actually.

You stand a better chance of getting all the oil out of the tank if the bike is upright. Stack some 2 X 4s under it to get it more upright if you don't have a lift. Just an idea.

I use a couple of 2 x 4s & it works well to get the bike upright!

Primary, no
For oil and tranny, stand her straight up on a lift.

I change mine away from home more often than not. I open the drains on the Jiffy stand and then stand the bike up to let them drain.

I do the engine and primary on the jiffy stand with no trouble. Since the trans drain is in the middle, between the shocks, I made up a stand of the proper height to keep the bike straight upright. No issues.
