Default Speedometer lights go on & off!

Has anyone experienced this before? The dealership checked the wiring but it seems to be OK. Also, my aux lamps also switch on & off with the speedo/dash lights going off. The main headlamp however does not flicker or switch off.

The electronics warning light comes on briefly and vanishes when the lights come back on. Any advise will be welcome.

How old is the bike. Had this with my 12 Heritage, first they changed the voltage regulator with the recall, then the speedo lights were doing the on and off stuff even after that. 3 Dealerships could not replicate the problem so they installed the new speedo/tacho and I've had no issues with that since.
I have had the kill switch not killing and the right blinker coming on by itself but that seems to be back to normal.

I had this problem... it was happening with the headlight as well. Turned out the wires leading to my brake light were hanging low and the tire rubbed through and created a short. You said the dealer checked the wiring so I'm not sure, but has to be a short somewhere. I would say the regulator could be the culprit also as said above... Good luck

This happened to me, turns out my negative cable to my battery wasn't tightened down all the way.. which also explained why my bike was weak-starting every time. I thought it was just the starter fighting against my 107. oh well. a few turns of a 10mm socket fixed it.

Rancid and SGT nailed it. When this happened to my brothers bike I thought it was a relay problem, I could hear it constantly clicking off and on. We checked the wiring and all semed fine, but it turns out the wires under the rear fender came out of the retainer and the tire chewed on them for a bit. His battery cables were also loose. Haha

the only issue i was having was the speedo back lighting. it would go on and off by its self at random. dealership had to diagnose before they would warranty the part. i felt lucky to get off with only a $23 charge for diagnoses. i just picked up the new one tonight.

Try the voltage regulator. I had the exact same issue with mine, delaer looked and found nothing. Brought it back again and the looked again and found the voltage regulator to be bad. (Had a recall on it too). Hope this helps.
