Default 1999 Springer--should I get it?

Hey guys, I have come across a situation for me to aquire a 1999 springer. I have searched the internet and am not coming up with a lot of info. So, this bike has 43k miles. I dunno, I'm getting a pretty smoking deal on this...I think. Unless these bikes are terrible to ride. What is the overall word on these bikes? I have heard they wobble at high speeds and have an under powered motor, and that's pretty much all I know.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If the '99 has the 1450 TC motor you will not be dissapointed
High speed wobble? -- Baggers have a death wobble too - never heard that on softy

I just picked up a 2000 Springer FXSTS and coming off a Street Glide can't really say I have any complaints yet ... but the ride is nice..i can feel the weight of the front end at slow speed in town but on the road smmmoooooootthhhh

if I do recall correctly, 99 was the last year of the evo motor so I don't think it will have a TC but 80" is 1340, right?

If its a 99 its EVO 80ci. With a little help not under powered at all and far easier to work on. Solid reliable 100+k motor. Youll get more vibs than TCb but thats old school life.

they do wobble if the headset bearings are loose and most are.. I have a newer springer but same system and I have to re-torque them every 10k or so as for power that's just money

well its an OK deal I guess not super deal. I just got a 07 fxst for $6000 with 17k on her. Now that's a deal. Springers are cool get one with that Evo motor or one 07 newer to avoid the 00-06 cam shoe issues.

Oh I know all about the cam shoe issues, I have an 06 TC. I have looked a little bit and some of these FXSTS are quirky but then again, as someone said, that's old school harley

The moons are gonna have to really line up to get this bike, but I'll let ya know what happens.

Thanks!
