What time of year are you gonna be here? At end of April there is an awesome bikefest in Leesburg which is pretty close to Springhill and of course there is Bike week and Biketoberfest in Daytona. If you can get the chance a ride down to the keys is really awesome. Lots of history around Florida if you are into that kind of exploring and tons of nightlife activities if that is your thing. Weather here makes for year round entertainment and events. Lots of great charity rides and so forth when you get here check out local shops and magazines for events you like. Rarely ever a time where nothing is going on.

And one more thing salt water and salt spray from beach areas will wreck havoc on your bike if left on too long so be prepared to wash it and use a protectant if you plan to go to beach. But it certainly isnt as bad as the salt that they put down up north in those states where it snows.

Well Florida is not know for its beautiful roads, however the weather makes them beautiful.
Let me explain Florida riding, there is a ridge that runs up through the middle of FL, it runs through lake city, Ocala, it splits goes down to orlando and goes over by the Tampa area.
This ridge runs from 75 to two hundred feet above sea level.
All the old roads follow it, 27, 441, 41 and have better soil, more farms and more development.
It is also very pretty.
When you get close to the beach there is a coral ridge that rings the coast. Inside this ring the area is very flat, roads are straight the soil is sand, very little will grow.
A lot of this area is swamp, the swamp sounds beautiful however driving through it is very boring.
Four months is enough time to get to know the area, head east and north and you will finds some real pretty roads, bring some warm gear if you like riding in the morning, we do get some cool weather the farther north you go.
Have fun, spend money, keep Florida green.

Definitely a ride down through the Keys is always a good one. Overseas highway crosses hundreds of bridges on the ride, with all kinds of watering holes. But other than that area, I'd stay away from South Florida. Tons of toll roads and congestion. Daytona and inland has nice routes. Northeast Florida has a lot of back country roads that go through old farm land. A1A route is nice and hugs the coast the majority of the way. Just be sure to wash the bike down every couple days.
