Default Throttle cable routing - pics needed

Can you guys help? I am installing 12" apes on the Fatboy and the throttle is binding. I have tried a few different scenarios and it's just not working. Went with a 6" over throttle/idle cable set.

There's a cover behind the headlight, not sure what it's called, but it doesn't have a hole for the throttle cables to go through. That makes it a bit tough to route things so they don't bind.

Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I got...

Those cables look a little long. Mine hoop behind the trees and bars and held in place by a loose fitting clamp that was added to the back of the trees. Even there they bend a little when I turn the bars all the way to the right.

I agree; looks like you have too much cable there. Mine kick inward, and go behind the bars joined together with the front brake line.

I'll try and snap a pic for you this weekend. Where did you come up with +6?

Is the throttle hard to turn or just not snapping back to idle when you release it? I'd also check to make sure the throttle tube/grip is spinning freely on the bars. I installed some bars before that the chrome was a little too thick and caused the throttle hang up. It doesn't take hardly any friction to cause an issue.

Will they fit through the hole in the top tree where the wires go through under the risers? That is where I routed mine.

That helps. Thanks for the pics.
I thought 12" apes required 6" over.

I think my cables are +6 and my bars are 17". I did not want much extra cable, as my cables are routed down each side of handlbar so they blend in, as much as possible.

If they are indeed too long rout them around teh other side of the tank and back to take up for the extra length.
