Default Need rake for softtail slim and 23s?

New to the forums, Finally got around to purchasing a new slim in Feb my first HD. I'm waiting on as set of DNA Mammoths 23 inch front and 18 inch rear combo to arrive, it's already been 5 weeks no wheels yet! I ordered a set of KO rake triple trees from Arlen Ness, I'm curious if these were even necessary. I've asked local dealers only to get different answers. I searched the threads but couldn't get a definite answer. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Negative. You don't need a rake. Re read not2slims thread about what he's done to achieve running the 23" front rim on the slim.
I can summarize by telling you he didn't have to rake, but he did lower the front end 1 3/4"
I too bought my slim back in Febuary and am awaiting the same wheel combo. I have ordered progressives lowering springs for the front end besides other goodies but nothing for rake.
Good luck with your bike, hopefully the wheels get to you soon.

No rake kit needed to fit a 23" wheel, but I would like to know how it handles and looks raked out. I hope you have better luck with your DNA wheels than I did.

I decided not to rake it, I'll let you know how it rides when I get her rolling.
