Cant blame the water, the weather is great here in SOCAL no rain for a long time and I wouldn't ride in the rain if I don't have to. Washing the bike I wipe with rag and detail spray No water hose. I found, like most, the water just leaves spots and you need to detail spray it after anyway so washing isn't my worry.
But good call, Ill see if wd40 helps. After all WD40 does stand for Water Displacement 40th Chemical formula try.
