I have a 55. The 50 won't be as tall and usually shorter tires have a flatter profile which causes slower turn in. You bike will sit a few mm lower too.

The 210/50 is lower in diameter then 200/55 so I'd imagine a 200/50 would be noticing shorter

From what I was told when ordering, they said the tire would be roughly 1/4 inch shorter overall than the 55 series. I am wondering about handling charateristics, and also how much if any it will affect the speedo?

I run a Metzeler ME 880 Marathon 200/50 ZR17 on my deuce, I absolutely love the low profile with my heartland kit compared to the 55 I had on before.

Well, the Shinko's are on. I will try to post a pic tomorrow, got rained out today. The 50 series looks great on the back. I don't really notice much difference in looks at all like I thought I would. The compound of these tires must be really soft, because they stick to the road very well. That will probably mean very limited mileage, but for the prce of the tires, it was well worth the trade off to me. They feel way better than the Dunlops that they replaced. I obviously won't know how good or bad they are until I get a little mileage on them, but time will tell.

Default life to short

I tried the Metzlers 210/50 and I thought the Dunlops wore out fast. 3800 miles and the cords were showing. Never done a burnout but am a 270 lard a$$. Just don't plan on going far from home.

Snowy, I am a lard a$$ myself. I am however anxious to see how these wear. I know they are cheapo's, but I do like they way they "feel". If they wear evenly, and without any major problems other than a low mileage life, I will be happy. As I said before, at $176 for both and delivered to my door in 2 days... so far so good.
