Default Softail Deluxe Tank Removal!

how do i get the tank off once ive removed the front and back bolt and removed the top side fuel line? its stuck!!!

If you have both bolts out and fuel lines disconnected should jus lift up in front may be a little snug on rubbers may have give it a good yank.

i was able to do my bar swap without having to disconnect that crossover thank god

Did you disconnect the fuel gauge sender?

Lucky bastage... my tank was almost full when I did mine... yeah..

Now we need pics of the new bars homie!

ill be honest but im not entirely sure what that is lol all i disconnected was the hose up top in the tank, the wire connector for the console and the quick disconnect on the bottom left of the tank. with those undone i was able to move the tank around enough to be able to run my new wires, etc

The left side fuel gauge/cap has 2 wires that exit the bottom of the tank near the horn/top motor mount. Unless you want to do a tensile strength test on those wires the connector needs to be unclipped. Crossover line, dash with speedo, tank vent line, all need to be disconnected. Then a little wiggle if it hasn't been off before.
