Wire extensions
OK, question? I have been following ape and ape related questions for more then 2 years now and especially leading up to when mine were installed. I had NO ape experience prior to getting these Carinis. My INDY measured, cut and made all the wiring himself. I don't know the answer to this so that's why I am asking, why isn't this done more often, or more of than I read about? Why do people go with "extensions" over making or having their own made to fit their bikes and the size of apes they buy? It has to be less expensive too, no?

Extensions like Namz are plug and play. No need to cut and solder any wire. Way less chance of things going wrong such as bad splices, bad/cold solder joints, Crossed wires and so fourth. I have seen some bad splices set off codes. If you have a newer canbus system I would think twice before making splices, unless you know what your doing and have the proper tools and equipment to do it right.
So a Namz plug and play would be better than the kit that comes with the burley kit?? If so. I'll order it today. And Tbone. The reason I don't want to do it that way. Is because my bike will be out of commissions for a while if we have to take it down after it's done. Don't want to lose the Memorial Day weekend. If I can make it faster and expedite the process.
