Default What Fluids are you running?

Just curious what fluids folks have chosen to run in their primary and tranny. I have an 07 Heritage. When I got it the dealer had put the syn 3 oil in all three holes. I rode it about 30K miles using the same kind of fluids. Then in an attempt to make it shift smoother, I switched to the Harley primary oil and the V Twin Redline tranny oil. That change did make it shift a lot smoother. However, I recently did the normal fluid service and when I looked at the magnet on the transmission oil plug it seemed to have more shavings on the magnet than usual. Now that might be my imagination, not sure. But, that got me to wondering what other folks are using and whether or not I should switch to the Harley transmission fluid at the next change.

Ask 10 riders you'll get 10 different answers and 10 different reasons why.

See the subforum below and choose a sticky you are interested in to see what fluid most use in each hole.

The great oil debate again...

This is what I run:
Engine - Mobil1 15W-50 (Walmart special, this is a car oil)
Primary - Mobil1 10W-40
Transmission - Mobil1 75W-90 Gear Oil

I had no doubt when I read the title that it was yet another oil thread - I use somewhat similar, and have no doubt that the car Mobil-1 will be just as good at a much lower price.

Anyway, this is what I use:
Engine - V-Twin 20w50
Primary - 4-Stroke Racing 10w40
Trans - Redline Shockproof

Yeah, it's $24.99 for a 5QT jug of it. One perk of a Harley (unlike my Kawasaki) is the engine is a separate sump, so I can run car oil in there as long as I get the right viscosity.

It's saved a fair amount of money for me over the last several years.
