Default Deluxe or Lo?

Getting ready to dump the sporty and am looking to make a move on either a used FB Lo or Deluxe. I really love the look of both bikes and have ridden a Deluxe before but not a Lo.

Most of my riding is solo but there will definitely be times the gf will come with me for the occasional weekender. If I can't find one that is already equipped with bags, windscreen and backrest, I'll be adding them. Not into the Heritage.

Just looking for some general feedback from other Softail owners. I'm pretty torn between the two bikes. I will say that the deals on lightly used Lo's appear to be better than the Deluxes.

Thanks in advance.

Dude when it comes down to which softail it is all about style, comfort, and fit. The deluxe is more us classic style guys that love the look of the late 40's and 50's style FL pan heads. The fatboy is more aggressively styled and the fatter wheels makes it a little more balanced in a straight line but takes more effort in the turn. The differences in the ride of both bikes are minimal and that is why the question you should ask yourself is which is more my style.

Im sorta sweet on the deluxe. I was gonna add my own saddlebags and sissybar anyway. I wasnt to keen on the style of the heritage bag's and bar. But there are a ton of folks that do. To each their own. The deluxe has already been lowered and I think the lo as well.

I love my Deluxe. I like the Classic style. Sit on both and ride both and see what fits, and feels better.

In addition to the other riders mentioned, the Deluxe is quite receptive to a wide spectrum of customisations, personalisations and add-ons. I love my Deluxe and i do enjoy each and every ride "in" it.

Both bikes have the same chassis (lowered Softail) and should ride the same. the real differences are in the sheetmetal and Chrome or Black styling.

I like my Deluxe and constantly get compliments from complete strangers, but the wire wheels and wide white walls that contribute to the Deluxe look are a pain to maintain.

That being said, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, as my RKC has the same wire wheels and wide white walls. I like the look, but they are more work to maintain.
