4-23-06...............will be there

Sean your right about the speed. For one thing it's a long way to the bottom at some places and if you go too fast you miss the view. There are quite a few HDF members in this area, so let us know when your in the area. We could all meet up and maybe ride some together.

Yeah, it is like a 450 mile trip one way for us, so figured we'd take our time. After the first time down there, needed to go again and do things we did not get to do last time. I think this is the first of three times we will be going down

Cosmo,

I know the area you are talking about and it seems the speed limit is a little low for the type of road. I will look next time I'm there but I think the limit is 45 mph north of the Tabicat Bridge. As far as how much LEO's give HD riders each officer is different. Most of the officers that I have worked with up there use very, very libreal limits. And I can say I have never seen a ticket written for 1mph over in 10 years of LE. Have a good ride and let the crazies go on the metrics.

I have ridden the Dragon 3 times. Once in the rain. It was a blast! I have to admit that it was only crowded on one occasion that I was there. It did take some of the fun out of it worrying about all the sport bikes passing. I'm not interested in pushing the limits, especially in a place where the consequences can be deadly. I will be in the area in early to mid July. I'm riding down from the Skyline Drive in Virginia, then the Blue Ridge to the Robbinsville area. I'm trying to plan something in late May as well, but I don't know yet. This truly is "God's Country!"
