This is my first post on this forum and I just want to hello to all out there.
My problem is the starter is dragging on a rebuilt 1993,883. The guy I picked it up from said that it had been rebuilt not to long ago by the dealership and the heads are from a big bore kit. I don't remember what size. I rode it for a few hundred miles with the starter dragging every so often then it would turn over at all. I cleaned all the wire connections made sure it had a good ground and still no go. Replaced the starter with a 1.4 kw starter, still no go. Replaced Batt, no go. Pulled the plugs and it turns over strong. Any ideas?

 

You should check charging system. Make sure there's no corrosion or breaks under Plastic cover on Neg Cable. What Big Bore Heads are on it !200 cc on 883 Does the Dealership remember the bike? Start with the basics and stop buying parts you may not need. Good Luck

 

I jumped the starter out, bypassed the electrical system and went strait from positive to starter and it still drags. But I will check the cables again.
