TTI install on D&D Bobcat Exhaust
Love my Bobcat exhaust but don't care for the extra bark and want a little more torque. I read about the Thunder Torque Inserts from DK Customs and thought I would give them a try. My main problem was the inserts were made to bolt close to the end of the exhaust. If you look at my attached picture, the canister has two edges so that option would not work. The only place the insert would fit is at the front of the canister and just past the collector. It installed easily and the bolt/nut is not visible from the outside. DISCLAIMER - Since the insert is designed to be installed at the end of the exhaust pipe/canister and not where I installed it, I cannot recommend this in case I'm screwing something up without realizing it. However, I can say in my case the insert is working as advertised with a small but noticeable hit on the bottom end. Thankfully the sound is still great, just not as offensive while cruising. The insert is shown backwards in the canister for picture purposes and was turned correctly for installation.

Very interesting thread, thanks for posting it up! It's good to hear even mounted deeper than the typical 1" - 3" from the end of the pipe you still got good results with the TTI mounted in the location you had to use.

Thanks, my only concern is the pressure pulses traveling back to the heads. I've heard that they will with certain setups so I guess it's a gamble. I have also been turning the insert a few degrees and experimenting with the results. Will give a follow up of that if something worth writing about happens.

Follow up report. So I've been experimenting with the TTI long enough now to give a review. With it turned fully closed the bike runs OK but I did notice a lack of overall power on the highway for my setup. After small incremental turns I found having it closed about three quarters gives the best of both worlds. It keeps the bottom end hit that I like and doesn't choke the top end too much. I even opened it up all the way to compare it with the original stock Bobcat flow. So I will agree that the TTI is legit for what it is advertised for.
