Default red key light no turn signals

Name Stephen and I just bought a 2010 xl1200n got it home for the dealership and when to start it back up and it would just click noticed the red key lights on but not sure if it was on when it was running can't remember. And so when I went to start it up it would just click roll slow so I started testing connections at the battery found out that negative terminal was a little melted replace the battery and it would still do the same thing charging the battery now so I don't know if it it of why the bike want start but also noticed my turn signals do not work any ideas of what this could be. o and bike doesn't not even click like the starter is even trying go to start it and nothing

Does the bike have security, you said red key light. If the red key light stays on, your fob battery is dead. Always give it a few seconds for the red key light to go out. Also the fuel light too. That's if you have security with a key fob.

It's not that then. Did the dealer give any kind of warranty. Like 30 days.

They told me if anything happens in the next few days let them know and I'll fix it just one of those people that really like to try to figure it out himself that and I can't take the bike up there till Saturday so I figured if it's an easy fix or cheap enough it'll be better than me spending gas to haul it up there in my truck

Easy fix = get it back to dealer b/c if you mess something up worse...they might back-off on assistance...JMO.

If you don't have an alarm system, then check all of your negative connections...even the one bolted to the frame. You mentioned that your negative terminal was slightly melted, did you check the cable for damage or even the possibility of a blown fuse. Do your other lights work?

I think you just found out why the PO traded it in, get it back to the dealer quick so it's their problem not yours!
