Hello Guys/Girls, I'm in the process of relocating my speedo with a DK customs tank mount and i need to lengthen my cables. I'm just not sure what gauge they are? dont want to go to small and blow something out!

Which kit did you get fm DK Customs? You shouldn't have to splice any cables and...I wouldn't recommend cutting into them.

If I recall correctly, it is 20 gauge. Might want to pull your indicator lights from the bezel, then you can see the wire and match it up.

Other option is to contact the shop tomorrow about swapping out for the other unit, the one that keeps the indicator lights with the speedo.

 

Hi Kev, i did think about it but its not the style I'm looking for, so ill just suck it up and lengthen the five wires.

No need to worry, is a easy diy.

I did this months ago to my 2017 883 Iron, I relocated the speedo to the frontfork. The bracket I made from a cheep chinese copy and coated it black again. Cant remeber the gauge they are but I have several spare cables around the workshop so I allways have the right one at hand.



For them who are interested, on my site it is showing what I did with the bracket.

 

Any new harness extensions out there nowadays? Same exact problem - bought the wrong bracket (but like it's looks better), and wires to clamp mount indicator lights are too short. I'd rather pay for a plug and play extension, rather than cutting into this harness.
