Default Speedo removal, Tampa, Sporster

Morning all.

I have a 97 Sportster in need or wiring. No speedo and need to bypass. Anyone here that can advise on a conversion kit, I'm located in Tampa.

Is this a new build that needs to be wired front to back or a bike that's already wired but needs certain things eliminated?

Hello and welcome.
Many informed individuals on the forum.
Rather difficult to understand your post.
The only thing understood is that you have a 1997 Harley Sportster of unknown miles and condition.
Are you trying to bypass the speedometer so the bike will start?
Remember, we can not see the bike and have no idea what you are trying to do.

Yes correct. I apologies, I am new to the site.

I have a 1997 sportster covered 20,000 miles. that has no speedo. I need to bypass the speedometer so it will start and run. Do you have a wiring diagram to bypass this or point me in the right direction

If it is easier you can text or call on 813 465 9979

I would imagine that you have the key/ignition switch.
I will also guess that wiring is OK and that you are only missing the speedometer itself.
But it is starting to sound like you are missing more than just a speedometer and a few wires.
Consider going to google with a real computer and enter:
1997 sportster electrical diagram ..but click images.
That should keep you busy for hours trying to track what wires you have and what wires are missing and what wires can be jumped.

Thank you,

I have extensively looked online. I am unable to find hacks etc... I really am not very good with electrical components. Do you know anyone in the Tampa area that can assist me?

It would seem like you are shooting in multiple directions without exactly offering much in the way of information and are also rather unsure of your abilities.
After several posts it was clarified that you wanted an electrical diagram for your 1996 sportster although we were unsure if it was an 883 or 1200.
Once you were put on the right direction to acquire the electrical diagram rather easily then it would seem that you want to bypass the speedometer and then mix-in a missing rear electrical harness.
Then you report that you are not very good with electrical components and it would seem like you now are searching for a shop/mechanic.
Suggest you start a new post with the title "need mechanic in Tampa area"
Then enter that you have a 1997 Harley 883 or 1200 with 20,000 miles.
Detail that bike is new to you and bike requires electrical work because:
You are missing a rear electrical harness.
You are missing the speedometer
That bike will not start.
There are several folks on the forum that are from Florida that might be better able to direct you so you can tow the bike into a shop.

This is the first try at it,,, i kept the OEM cover and ran the hose below on the right side with a filter on the end.
