Is tank vent hose necessary?

If you just run the vent hose (no can) you are venting to atmosphere. I would keep it, in the event of the tank being full to the brim (yah it happens, lets be honest here) the vent will probably weep a bit. Or while riding you may splash some up onto your vent and it may weep. With no hose it will weep onto the top of the frame and the wiring that runs down your top tube and also probably onto the top of the motor.

I used a black vent, shorter black hose, and my vent nipple is further forward. You don't even notice it. I normally only fill my tank until it just splashes on the bottom of the filler hole, so I'm not close to topping it off, never had a problem. I don't jam the gas nozzle into my tank, I just hold back the collar and dribble it in so I can see it coming up. Of course, two gallons is easy.

Always nice to see that "holier than thou" attitude on the forum. Of course, none of you would ever do anything to your bike to make it unique. Or, maybe even a little bit "cool?" Right? Didn't think so.
Hell, the matte paint all you clones ride around with looks unfinished to me. And you paid big money for it.
