i have a 2014 forty eight, with stock shocks. my buddy has a 2016 forty eight. he took off his stock shocks for new ones and told me to use his 2016's on my 2014, that they were upgraded. is the difference worth switching them out?
if they're cheap or free it'd be worth it for sure. They are the "premium" emulsion shocks. Not up to say Ohlins standards but much better than the older style stock shocks.

whats the story with the stock road king shocks? do they fit a 48? i thought i read somewhere they're a great upgrade
They are air shocks and fit as far as I know, very comfy ride for sure, for the price you can get them for sure beats paying the money for really good shocks....you have free ones to try, see how you like them compared to your stock ones
