2008 1200 Won't start, electrical issue.
Hey all. I can't get my 2008 Nightster to start. Here is the deal, I have 3 bikes and didn't ride the Nightster last year at all. The battery was old anyways so I just bought a new one today. The old one was completely dead.
I put the new battery in and as soon as I connect the positive terminal, the front turn signals light up and stay lit, and the bright lights indicator turns on as well. This is with the key in the off position.
If I turn the key on, I do get the headlamp and the "bright" indicator goes away, but the turn signals stay on. If I turn the ignition switch to run, the fuel injector doesn't make any sounds like it should.
At no time does the odometer turn on.
I checked the fuses and they are not blown. (I didn't use a tester, but they passed the eye test) I also changed the FOB battery. (It does have the stupid security system).
My belief is that there is an issue with the security system. Is there anything I can do to test this?

I have a very similar issue with my 2008 Fatboy. Rode for about 4 hours and stopped for lunch. Tried to start it and nothing. Swapped battery with a buddy, changed FOB battery, and checked all relays and fuses. I get the console power but no headlight, fuel pump or anything else. We called our MC president who is a HD mechanic and we tried the reset of the console (holding the black reset button on the side of the console and then turning ignition on) and got nothing. He said it was the security system control unit is dead. I am just going to remove it but need to know how to do that without locking myself out of the bike.
Looking forward to any answers the crowd has.
