Default Sideplate mount

Hi,

I bought this used side plate mount:

Can anyone tell me on which side it should be mounted, I can switch the position ob the bracket, the question would be if the recessed part goes toward the swingarm or towards the nut, or towards the head of the axle bolt?

Many thanks, Tom

Just based on the photo, it looks the the second pic is how you would see it looking towards the back of the bike. The inset would sit against the frame and use the axle nut? Maybe the shock mount?

Actually. Based on the pic it looks like there is discoloration on the side where the round nut was tightened down
