Default Supertrapp 2-into-1 on solid mount Sportsters?

I know it won't be a popular option, as most riders prefer to Be Loud, but I'm curious if anyone here are tried one of the Supertrapp 2-into-1 exhausts on an older, rigid mount Sporty. Are they compatible with OEM forward controls? What was your experience with it? What did you like/dislike? How as the ground clearance, installation process? Any issues with other components (ie: passenger pegs, bags)?

I'm still running stock exhaust at the moment. My 2003 883 Hugger originally came with debaffled mufflers, and it ran like crap and caused me to get a few complaints from neighbors. Switching to unmodified OEM mufflers helped both issues, but I find the stock exhaust ugly and heavy. I like the idea of a stronger, smoother low to mid range torque without getting stupid loud, and I'm always keen on dropping some weight off of the bike where I can, so a 2-1 exhaust seems appealing.

Anyone tried this? What are you thoughts on it if you have?

There is a review and dyno test on that pipe and many others at https://www.1250kits.com/ttxlexhaust.shtml

Yeah, saw that. Definitely interesting, though of limited use since the Patriot is no longer made.

I'm hoping to track down some first-hand, real world use perspectives. Not many people seem to use this, so reviews are nearly impossible to find. There was one on Amazon that was interesting, but 13 years old, and I think for a newer model bike.

I believe forum user @apache snow uses the Supertrap supermegs.

Maybe he can give you some insight.

Default 883 2n1 supertrapp

I have an 11 xl883l with a supertrapp 2n1. I like it a lot. I change to the 38t primary sprocket (1200 gear) and I say that because it does make better low and mid torque, pulls fine in 5th around 50mph. It will turn a little more rpm by my tact but I don't think it has much more power on the higher rpm, just feels like it gets up a little quicker.
It didn't really kill the Harley sound but it's a little different from stock more like a growl, but it's adjustable by adding more disc for more volume. I have all the disc in mine but my ears don't ring after an hour at 75 or 80. Also sounds pretty gnarly when break with engine.
The fit is excellent. Can't say about a rigid mount, but they did their homework on my model. Bolted up solid, O2 sensors fit, controls all fit.
Probably have about 15k miles since I put it on. The ceramic coated shields are starting to show lite corrosion in the form discolored flaking but I have the black.

I did drag the bracket once or twice but I have also drug the tab with the kickstand on it. But not since I got better rear shocks. Probably more due to being a low bike with my weight and soft springs the cause.
All in all no regrets here. I like the look, the sound, the performance and so far the reliability.

Hope you can find the info you need for the rigid mount. Good luck.

Yeah, I had some thoughts about switching the sprocket for higher gearing if the pipe did indeed provide a low end torque boost. I’d need to go to a shop for that mod though.

I could add this also. When I first installed it I didn't remap. I assumed that the O2 sensors would compensate for the air flow. I tuned it by adding and reducing the number of disc which I had 20 that came with the pipes. I think I settled around 14. This was before the gear change. (which by the way did involve several whisker stroking steps that wasn't included in the manual.) After the gear change I added a power vision and retuned with a map from a bike with the same setup that had been dyno tuned. The difference was night and day. And that's when I added the rest of the disc. I've been told to get my bike dyno tuned and I would see even better results.
Long story short, even though your bike doesn't have a map it's gonna need the carb jetted to get most out of it. Which pretty much goes without saying, so if you can't find a working combo for your bike, might wanna figure in paying to get it tuned.

My understanding is that with 6-8 discs, the Supertrapp pipes can be used with stock jets/mapping, even with high-flow intake. True, that would NOT be getting the most out of them, but I'm curious what benefit there might be from just that switch, allowing for doing jet upgrades later (adding more discs later should be pretty easy). Weight savings, better scavenging, whatever. And do these actually come with heat shielding at all, or would that have to be purchase separately? I'm also curious if the right brake control has to be removed for install. I think directions for mids stated that they needed to be removed, which sounds tedious, and I'd really rather stick with my factory forwards.

I'm largely just collating info. I know it would be cheaper to get the new jets, switch back to the debaffled slip-ons, and put some TTIs in them, but I fear I'd start getting complaints from neighbors again.

This link should be a video of my bike running to give you an idea of what it sounds like. Notice you can still here the engine noise over the exhaust.

Yea it came with heat shields. I have forward controls.

This photo is 20 years old, but it was great, it was a 1200 conversion and with no other mods it was tuned/jetted on a dyno resulting in 76hp/124nm from the wheel. Can't remember how many plates, ended up going back to straight pipes due to young age and selling the bike with them, sure wish i kept those pipes as they are hard to find, probably have not been manufactured in ages. That bike is -00.
